Gold Coast Aged Care welcomes Resthaven Mount Gambier in Mount Gambier, SA 5290 residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms by bringing items from their previous home.

Resthaven opened a new, purpose-built aged care facility at 24 Elizabeth Street, in the heart of Mount Gambier in July 2011. The facility offers accommodation and support for up to 100 older people in single rooms with ensuite bathrooms and individual airconditioners. Features include communal entertainment areas, a small on-site shop, hairdresser, a library and regular newsletters. There is always something going on - films, concerts, quizzes - it's your choice to participate or not.

Family involvement is encouraged through a variety of volunteer opportunities.

Resthaven Mount Gambier offers high and low level care services for people 60 years and over who need assistance with day to day activities. A secure unit for people with memory loss and confusion offers accommodation to 15 older people. Short term respite accommodation is also available.

Eligibility for care requires an independent assessment by an Australian Government Aged Care Assessment Team. Following assessment approval, Resthaven's admissions process includes an evaluation to ensure that our facilities are appropriate and that accommodation is offered to those applicants with the greatest need. Each person's circumstances differ, and our staff discuss individual needs and advise the next steps. In addition, hotel style living is available in six fully serviced, premium apartments for older people without care needs, seeking independence with quality accommodation.
