Gold Coast Aged Care welcomes Resthaven Marion in Marion, SA 5043 residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms by bringing items from their previous home.

Situated near the Marion Shopping Centre, Resthaven Marion is the largest Resthaven facility. Services are offered are 65 high level places which includes one respite bed; 94 low aged care places, including a 16 place high care secure dementia unit and three respite beds. Thirty seven independent living units provide another affordable retirement living option.

Resthaven Marion recently underwent a major expansion, including relocation of the front entrance to 10 Township Road, refurbishment of low care amenities and high care accommodation. Residents have access to trips on the Resthaven bus, knowledge programs, guest speakers and musicians, entertainment and on-site hairdresser. There is always something going on - films, concerts, quizzes - it's your choice to participate or not. Regular newsletters help keep residents in touch with what is happening at the site.

Resthaven Marion Community Services offers physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry and speech pathology, a Parkinson's clinic and in-home care and support.

Independent Living Unit accommodation offers independence, privacy and security, together with access to on-site communal facilities. One and two bedroom units are available, with most white goods and soft furnishing supplied. Car ports are available for the 18 resident funded units. Applicants purchase a licence to occupy the unit.

A fortnightly fee, reviewed annually, covers council rates, gardening, sewer and water rates (within limitations), insurance for all structures, administration expenses, repairs and maintenance of buildings and plant. Residents are responsible for their personal contents and public liability insurance and utility accounts. Residents furnish their units with personal possessions and are responsible for their own laundry, meals, shopping and cleaning. Opportunities to maintain a personal garden are negotiable.

There are also 19 South Australian Housing Trust rental units on site.

Should a move to a residential aged care facility be required, Resthaven gives preference to existing residents of Independent Living Units, following the necessary government assessments. Resthaven offers high and low level care services for people 60 years and over who need assistance with daily living activities. Eligibility for care requires an independent assessment by an Australian Government Aged Care Assessment Team. Following assessment approval, Resthaven's admissions process includes an evaluation to ensure our facilities are appropriate and that accommodation is offered to those applicants with the greatest need. Each person's circumstances differ and our Admissions staff discuss individual needs and advise the next steps.
